Promoting healthy and active transportation

Succession is working to promote healthy, accessible and sustainable transportation solutions at the city level. We believe that a greener world needs greener cities, and a greener city requires more affordable, accessible and safe transportation options for all users.

In 2017 and 2018, Succession worked with Ecology Ottawa, with support from the Ottawa Community Foundation, on a report assessing Ottawa’s progress on active transportation at a critical moment in the city’s history – immediately before the advent of light rail transit and a few short years after adoption of a plan to implement complete streets city-wide.

In 2019, Succession delivered two additional projects focused on active transportation connection points and station evaluations for Ottawa’s new and future light rail stations. This was made possible by the generous support of the Ottawa Community Foundation and the Ken and Debbie Rubin Public Interest Advocacy Fund.
